I got the revell skipjack as a present and wanted to make a decent kit out of it - so I contacted David Merriman of D&E miniatures - he sent me a large envolope stuffed with all kinds of info on the Skipjack! Just a shout out to show that the model building community is full of people who will share thier knowledge- if any one needs info on the skipjack let me know I will scan this stuff and have it available to anyone who needs it!

Great story, John!
There is a brotherhood amongst most of us who all have a deep love for gluing little fiddley bits of plastic together, and our community here especially just never ceases to amaze me with the offerings and just general info when needed. . .the Skipjack, eh?. . .tell us about yer plans for this build, mate!

Thanks to Daves info I'm going to snad the whole hull down and rescribe all the correct features- after gluing that silly "reactor hatch" flush. I'm not looking forward to scribing the sonar windows as they have lots of curves on a curved surface.

Ahoy Dave,
I am glad you got good info from Dave.
Could help clarify one mystery.....did the Skipjack have an upper dark gray hull
over the black hull as some photos indicate?
Thanks,
Joe
