Ahoy Shipmates
I came across this article (and I know it mentions Airfix and planes) but it got me thinking about are there are famous people (actors, celebrities etc) who are into modeling as well (ships, railway etc)?
Are they out there?

For example I understand Peter Sellers and Graham Stark collected Revell warships.
Peter Jacksons views on Airfix are exactly the same for me and that was the emotion that inspired me to get the Airfix E-Boat . I admire Peter Jacksons public openness on the subject. as well.
Regards
Sean

Hi Sean
It's interesting indeed!
Although not fresh news, here's a photo report (and some writing too) of an event our club promoted with the Naval Museum here in Almada (back in 2003) when some of the models presented were from a famous '40s Portuguese actor (movies and theather) and another from the theather stages still today - these were big surprises to some of the visitors!
If you want you can check it here:

I understand that James Stewart and Henry Fonda, despite their extreme political differences, were good friends who would hang out building model airplanes. Apparently they'd sit for hours not saying a word, just enjoying each others company.

James Stewart and Henry Fonda, despite their extreme political differences,
Let's see. James Stewart, retired Air Force Reserve General, and Henry Fonda, father of Hanoi Jane. What could their positions have been, we wonders..................

I understand Henry Fonda (Mr. Roberts ) did not share his daughters views- it was not until they made "on golden pond" that they were able to bury some of their differences.
