Arrgg!

Avast ye salty dawgs! What did you get accomplished this weekend?

I managed to get my 1/6 USAAF pilot bust painted between the long list of honey-dos my wife had for me.

Sound off y'all!

I know this is MSW, but buildin' is buildin'. I know if I keep on one subject too long, they start to look kinda rough. Besides, armor is the next best thing to ships. It's got a hull, a turret and a kick butt gun.

Doesn't the USMC AA LAV have a gatling gun instead of the .50?

Not much. I did a little work on my OIF Dio.

Plus I think I’ve finally came to the realization that I do have a large stash of kits and really should do something about it. So I’ve decided not to buy any more until I get some stuff finished.

This morning I made arrangements to buy another kit.

I agree, mate...the Lav-25 has two sets of Stinger Missile Pods and 25mm guns (5 barrels a piece...oh yeah, baby! )

Well I went to a auction from one of the local IMPS chapters. Brought six kits, came back with five, and spent about $3.00 out of pocket, all of which went to the club. I did manage to get one floaty thing, the 1/350 Trumpeter USS The Sullivans, for $10. I plan on building the kit for Leyte Gulf, soon as I figure out what square bridge Fletchers were in the battle. I'll be posting more on that after I do some research.

I delivered two cheesecakes from my wife to another member of our IPMS club. I got to see his workshop/stash. Color me green with envy. I'd guess his workshop is about 12 by 24 feet, with one long covered floor to ceiling with nautical books. (His armor books he keeps out of site like he's ashamed of them. ) Another two walls have covered storage bins for his stash, to keep them out of site, out of mind from SWMBO. Bliss!

Finally I just about completed the IJN Tatsuta, 1/700 Hasegawa. I still have to do some detail painting, and rig her, then work on a base.

All and all good weekend.

Ahoy all,

Did some more work on the Schnellboot....Airfix E-boat

Replaced the over sized fins on the torpedoes.

Gave the hull a base coat of paint to check for flaws.

Made new eagle decals as the kit supplied decals has the eagle's head
turned the wrong way and lacks the swastika.

PS..... I have extra eagle decals for any of you building an E-boat and would
like to replace them....just let me know.

Pictures later this week,
Cheers,
Joe

Between sessions of nappies changing, I try to model on and off a single barreled Hotchkiss 37 mm ship gun...
