Ahoy Mates,
This is my thread on my SOTQ entry.
I am going to build Revell's VII-D minelayer. Picked a model that is recent
so that I will not have to go into superdetailing with scratchbuilt parts, just
what is available in kit form and PE. But I will modify the kit as describe below.
Revell 1:144 scale VII-D minelayer kit no: 5009
Eduard PE for the mine layer.
Homemade decals ......Red Devil U-552
Drilling out of vents and flooding holes.
Cutting out of the minelaying section.
Additional of a pressure hull to avoid see thru effect.
This will be a conversion from a VII-D to a VII-C variant and
the boat will be built up as Erich Topp's U-552.
The VII-D was essentially a VII-C with the addition of a 9.3 meter section
that made up the minelayer variant.
Have a nice day and happy modeling........HAVE FUN!
Cheers,
Joe

Joe,
I believe you might just be beyond the help of medical science, (LOL)
Good, we get to see another of your works of art, bring them on my friend.
Nurse, increase Joe`s tablets.
