Ahoy Shipmates
I ordered my own copy of Das Boot The Directors Cut. It was a good price plus free shipping. It arrived on Friday and over the weekend I enjoyed watching parts of it.. I havent bought any modelling kits thus far this year and its already May but I felt this DVD was an "essential " item to add to my modest DVD collection.
By the way my eight year old son thinks its the "meanest" movie. I have to totally agree with him there. He sat and watched about one and half hours of it with me I edited/skipped the beginning so he did not need to see the party etc.
Regards
Sean

Ahoy Sean,
It is the submarine movie...I have always enjoyed every second of it....from
the original to the DC to even watching the extended mini series.
Even in the director's cut, there are many scenes that were cut out compared
to miniseries.
My only negative comment:
They could have had a little surface action as in the 2cm or the deck gun being
fired.....would have given us all an idea of how these actually worked.
Got to see that action in U-571.......as for the rest of the film.....
Cheers,
Joe

Sean,
Das Boot is the best film, one that you feel for the crew at the end as you have shared their lives through it all.
U-571 say no more
Ciao
