Does anybody have any idea on what policy is of USN AA guns as far as which way they point while the ship is cruising along?
I'm modeling the USS Indianapolis and I'm wondering how to point her 5" AA guns? She had 8 of them four on each side in two pairs, which one pair one deck higher than the other. All are grouped aft near the main mast. I'm thinking that all would be pointed aft, but if anybody has any other info I'm willing to listen.

Rodger,
It looks as if they were pointed straight out, ready to go in a moments notice. Here are some photos from the USN that I found.
