Fleet at Anchor in Elliot Bay, Seattle
The Fleet anchored in just off downtown Seattle.
The image below is taken from the Seattle Times from the May 25th, 1908 edition.
At the base of the angle is Coleman Dock, the main ferry terminal is still there today. The USS Louisiana was to the left and the USS Connecticut to the right. Stretching along Alaskan Way are lined the units of the Fleet. At this distance they would have been well in view of the citizens and visitors to the city.
From the order it appears the newest ships were given anchorages in the near view.

This is a great panorama of the Fleet at anchorage in Puget Sound while going towards Bremerton Naval Shipyard.
