About Jim Starkweather (staff_Jim) FROM: NEW HAMPSHIRE, UNITED STATES
I started building models in 1971 when I was 6. My first model was a 1/32 P-40 Warhawk. Revell I believe. From there I moved onto the standard cars, Apollo spacecraft, and other kid orientated kits. I don't know what got me started on Armor. I must have seen a Monogram tank kit one day and said "Mom...
Hi Jim,
This model was so much fun when I built mine 40-some years ago! Now I know where some parts in my spares box are from. Wish I'd saved the reactor and engine room parts.
The good news is that modelers should be able to hide many of the molding flaws just by positioning them facing the solid hull half. Somewhere in my notes I have a list of accurate colors to paint this model.
I built 3 or 4 of those back in my youth. A local hobby store has one and I've toyed with the idea of building it again. It was a fun project to work on during those cold winter days in Illinois.
I remember building this one. It was a cool build "back in the day". If I remember right, there was a cut-away U-Boat, too. Seem to remember building that one as well.
Jim
Sorry for the confusion as a newbee. Post where? This isn't a new topic. Anyway question: what do you guess the value of a factory sealed Renwal Uss George Washington 85-7520 kit to be worth. This is original, not a Revell. I don't see this site much, email at [email protected]. Happy trails
