The WZ-10 went into service with the Chinese People’s Liberation Army in 2012 and has also been supplied to the Pakistan Military. The WZ-10 looks to me at least to have a close resemblance to the Euro Copter Tiger if a little fatter around the middle. These 1/350th scale helicopters from Bronco Models seem to be popular with ship modellers judging by the number of kits Bronco Models has released has released in this scale.
Contents
Inside a small end opening box is a sealed bag containing two clear sprues, two photo etched frets and a decal sheet.
Review
The moulding quality and contents generally are of the typically high quality from Bronco Models. There are parts included in the box to allow construction of two helicopters. The parts have been moulded completely in clear plastic, I assume because it allows clear canopies to be easily replicated on the models. There are a surprising number of parts that make the models up with fuselage being in two halves, stub wings, main wheels, mounted weapons and separate main and tail rotor. Also included as an option is a photo etched main and tail rotor and you have 2 spare tail rotors should they be needed. The general look of the model parts appear a good match for the images I found online while allowing for the moulding requirements of the scale. The instructions covering assembly are printed on the rear of the box and serve the purpose well. Painting and placement of the decals are covered in a fold out sheet of paper which lists four finishing options.
Conclusion
While these small models and the parts that make them up are beyond me, I do feel these will make for good eye catching jewels used on ships of the same scale. I failed to detect any faults to mention and so if this helicopter appeals to you for use on a ship model or perhaps even a diorama this product is worthy of consideration.
SUMMARY
Highs: These are a nice addition to the 1/350th scale helicopters for the ship modellers.Lows: Nothing obvious is wrong with these models.Verdict: If you have a modern Chinese ship with the need for a helicopter this may be what you seek.
