  • The System

"Using Gator's Grip Hobby Glue regularly in your building process? Well, our own Kenny Loup, owner/operator of Gator's Paint Mask and More has now put together a new precision application system that will make using the adhesive a breeze!"

introduction

Tools?...I love tools...especially tools that work, and work as they have been designed and touted to perform specifically.

A tool is but an extension of the human hand, designed to make a certain task or process easier, and that is just what this new glue application system from GPM&M does!

If you have been "enlightened" and are using Gator's Grip Hobby Glue in your builds, you now have a dedicated application system that can be used to apply extremely small amounts of the adhesive, precisely where you need it to be, in a much more constant, and efficient manner.

I personally have been using the adhesive since it's early days ( full MSW coverage here ) and have been using different methods of application, depending on the circumstance...toothpick, stick pin, or a small artist brush...but now, with this new applicator system, even the smallest section of 1/700 photo-etch railing can be secured with a precise application delivered in a simple manner!

the tool system

Your applicator system comes packaged in a re-useable heavy weight zip-loc bag, inside you'll find a standard 3cc syringe, a 22ga blunt stainless steel applicator tip, and a tan plastic, tapered adhesive refill tip. You also get a small instruction tutorial sheet on how to use the system effectively to get the best results.

The process is accomplished in a few basic steps:

1.) Place the tan refill tip onto the syringe

2.) Draw the desired amount of Gator's Grip Glue into the syringe.

3.) Remove the tan plastic tip, and place the tip in a small container (the little plastic cough syrup cups work great!) of water for now, to keep the glue from setting inside the tip.

4.) Replace the tan tip with the precision applicator tip, and there you have it! You can now place extremely small amounts of the glue in key areas, allowing for faster set up time, and less waste...

5.) When you’re all done gluing, just remove the applicator tip, shoot the remaining Grip back into the original bottle, and flush the syringe, and both tips out with water until clean...

And that's it in a nutshell, mates, a simple but effective system design, to apply Gator's Grip in precision amounts and areas...and for two bucks USD, you can't beat it...do yourself a favor, order up a bottle of Gator's Grip and a new applicator system, and quit gluing your fingers together..........
SUMMARY
Highs: Simple, effective, and economical...with regular care and useage, the system will quickly outweigh it's investment in value to the modeler.
Lows: None...it works.
Verdict: If you've been using Gator's Grip, you gotta get one of these applicators, because the total package is now complete...highly recommended from this modelers point of view!

About Mark R. Smith (Gunny)

I have been building models of all sorts all of my life, concentrating mainly on the coolest one's when I was younger, but now I focus directly on all military subjects, from armor to warships. After years of counting rivets, I put away the calipers, dial indicators, and micrometers and now just ha...

Ordered it, received it, and used it. You know you have a great tool, when after you've used it, you say, "how did I ever do this before"? This is a great idea, and a great deal. Cheers, Mike
