DKM Bismark or DKM Tirpitz battleships in 1/350...

There are a few makers for this two 1/350 ships. I am not going to discuss or analyze the makers and the quality of their products, but this after market product intended to replace the "business end" of the class , the main armament.

The set

This JB Models set is comprised of eight turned aluminum barrels packed in a plastic zip lock bag. This will replace the barrels on all four turrets.
Barrel dimensions, details (barrel reinforcements) and nozzle are good and it will make a better representation of the real thing in model form.
As with most aluminum/brass barrels you will need to do the necessary "surgery": Simply cut off the original plastic barrel and drill a hole in the remaining ring so that you can insert the metal barrel, and fix it using Cyanoacrylate adhesives. Since the real ships had blast bags on all barrels, this is something you have to scratch built to have a more realistic feature.

Notes...

As with KGV barrels set, some instructions would be nice, although not critical.
Also, I wonder if JB-Models would consider improving this set, by including resin blast bags... it would improve the set and make the modelers happier for skipping a always difficult task of reproducing in a equal form all of the blast bags - this is a suggestion, not a critic.

I'm just waiting for this one to arrive in stock with DB models so I can add him to the other five. I see the LT is almost done as well. Great set of figures.

Hi Rudi This isn't my usual era either but I like the film and couldn't resist these figures for their likeness to the film and standard of workmanship. Catch you later Vic

Rudi - BRAVO-6 figures made me watch Platoon again and again in the last few weeks. I already rent a new movie named Tunnel Rats by Uwe Boll but still couldnt watch it as watching Platoon many times. I just noticed at the end of the movie after the scene Taylor shot Barnes, he walks through the approaching reinforcements and the M113 at the front of infantry carries a German flag with a swastika. Vic - I am eagerly waiting RTO Tony and Wolfe set and I think some AFV riders are also in Vladimir's plans so I have to find a good M113 for a big Platoon dio. Keep safe guys
