You probably have noticed the small boxes near the bridge wings on the box art for your kits. Replicating them in divine scale could be a bit of a challenge. Recently Flyhawk introduced just this very item in 1/700 scale.
The Fret…
The fret includes ten different sizes inclined ladders and many feet of vertical ladders. The inclined ladders cover a wide range of sizes from 4 step to 12 step. The ladders seem to be on par with other manufactures, if not a little nicer.
The vertical ladders are your typical cut to length straight runs of ladder.
Now down at the bottom of the fret are the objects that really make this fret different from any other currently on the market, the Navigation lights. We have seen the box art with they small boxes on each side of the bridge. These hold lights for aid in navigation.
The pieces fold into the boxes which hold the port and starboard lights. Green for starboard and red for port. So if you see red and green coming toward you the ships bow is approaching.
On most 1/700 builds these are left off ships, simply because they were not made available to us yet. Now all of the super detailers out there can make the proper navigation light box to add to their build.
There are two different sizes of boxes and enough for four of each size ship.
Instructions…
There is a single small sheet with guidelines for making the boxes and which color goes on which side of the ship.
Thoughts…
This set will add the extra something to complete your divine scale ship. Assembly of the nav lights might be tricky without magnification, so keep that in mind.
I am looking forward to seeing these in 1/350! (Hint)
SUMMARY
Highs: Unique set to help add that forgotten detail.Lows: Small, really small.Verdict: Well worth getting to add that missing detail.
