Intro…

We all know that the more you know about a project the better you can make it. If you wish to spend hour after hour looking for all that special information to make your project perfect you will. If you wish just to get by you can just tear open the kit and have at it.

Or if you just like to look at warships, then have something for you.

The DVD…

The USS GHW Bush, CVN-77, is the last of the US Navies Nimitz class carriers. She is the most advanced carrier in the US fleet and will serve her country for the next 40-50 years. All the lessons learned over the past few years have been used to make the Bush the best carrier in action anywhere in the world. She could almost be considered her own class of carrier with all the changed.

You have decided to convert a Nimitz class carrier into the Bush. Well, you will need more than a decal for the flight deck to do this. There are many differences to her hull, flight deck, island, and masts.

To help you in your quest for the correct information we have Volume 48 from Still Motions Photographics. On this DVD you will find over 450 high resolution images off all those important areas not normally seen on other sources. There is even a group of images from the USS Reagan, CVN-76 to provide you a comparison of the two ships.

The flies are large enough and clear enough so you can zoom in and to get an up close view you just cannot get on-line. Also there are pictures taken of the ship by a modeler for the modeler. Lets face it most of the time images of a carrier focus on the aircraft. This DVD is focused on the ship, with a couple aircraft shots thrown in.

Impressions…

This is an impressive DVD put out by Ray. He knows what us builders need in order to make our projects that much better. This DVD is a great source for all those little details. One that I noticed were the hand wheels on the JP-5 hose reels, they were two colors! They should be purple, not light blue and purple.

Another aspect of the DVD really like is the size, very small. You can get a small DVD binder and have your own library of warships stuck away in your desk drawer instead of taking up model storage space with a bookcase.

The price is also not bad when you consider that shipping is included.
