In this Atlantic Models decal sheet, you'll get a small decal sheet with:
- Two red dragons artwork (port and starboard sides); - Two HMS Dragon Badges (for funnel); - Two "DRAGON" name of ship for aft.
And you get a simple instruction sheet, pointing what goes where (if you haven't searched for HMS Dragon images online!).
HMS Dragon Type 45 Destroyer in 1/700 Since this is home printed decal sheet you will need to cut the individual artwork, (made by Peter Hall for his 1/350 scale model of HMS Dragon), and proceed as with any other decals for placing. Since they are for flat surfaces, there's no need for any solvents for better positioning, although Peter Hall recommends it in the instruction sheet. I didn't need it, since they went well in place, that was previously "Futured". After letting the decals set overnight, they were sealed with Future and look dead-on!
As mentioned before, this are home printed there are some more things you need to complete the job:
White letters for Helicopter Landing deck code (D R)
Number 5 for hull markings (you'll get the D3 from the kit decal sheet)
These can be found in Hawk Graphics Modern Royal Navy Ship Markings.
All the other decals will be provided by the kits original decal sheet (safety roundels, Flight deck landing markings, etc).
Conclusion...
A small detail that makes a big difference in this particular model.
Not a usual detail in modern warships, this Welsh Red Dragon really makes it the model look good!
Highly recommended!
