The Set

This resin and photo-etch set from Admiralty Model Works contains four Royal Navy World War II 35’ Motor Boats. They are appropriate for a variety of British warships from cruisers to battleships during the time period.

The motor boats are beautifully cast with very crisp details. The window cut outs and deck housing detail is exquisite. Look at the depth of the castings between the two deck houses in the photos, awesome! These are a huge improvement over the simplistic boats typically found in styrene kits.

There is a small photo-etch fret with propellers, rudders and the hand rails for tops of the deck houses. There is a large casting block on the bottom of each boat however it tapers down to a very fine edge along the keel which should make it relatively easy to separate and clean up.

The directions, located on the back of the package tab, are a simple grayscale image with the photo-etch parts highlighted in a gold color. While the directions are small, you can clearly see where the propellers, hand rails and rudder attach.

The craftsmanship is extraordinary and each is a mini kit unto itself. I highly recommend these boats 35’ motor boats if you love to detail your 1/700 scale World War II Royal Navy warships.
