Intro…

Any time there are totally new kits on the market the aftermarket companies will rush to make items for those kits. Well hot on the heals of Trumpeters’ Z25 Zerstorer Scaledecks has released a wooden deck for the kit.

The Deck…

Having the Z25 kit I wanted to get a deck for her. There are only two small areas on the Z-25 which are wooden, the first being on the deck part D15 and the second being part D5.

The deck arrived in a regular envelope. Inside this you will find the deck inside a clear package with a set of installation instructions. There are not location instructions as there are only two parts.

The installation instructions do tell you to paint the deck a wood color since the deck is thin enough to see color through it. I measured mine and it came in at .011” (0.23mm).

There are also some recommendations on which glue to use, either CA or Gator Glue. Also a good hint is included, try a scrap piece with your glue to make sure everything works. There is plenty of scrap.

The deck comes as part of a 5” x 2” piece. I chose to have mine in rich teak. They come in light maple and tinted wood. There are other options available including paper.

Fit…

The deck fit nicely right in side like it should. Make sure to trim it carefully.

Impression…

I was a little surprised how the deck was shipped. It did arrive safe and fairly quickly, 3 days from California to Georgia. Looks great and I cannot wait to actually put it to use in the kit. It will not work on Dragon's Z-39
