About Mauretania1906
HI, I am 38 years old and have had an interest in ocean liners since I built a small model of Titanic in the late 1970's (pre-Ballard) showing her broken in two. I have an extreme interest in the visual history of the Cunard Express liner R.M.S. Mauretania and have a rather large collection (1906-1936) of original photographs, photocards, postcards/onboard mail, onboard memorabilia and scrap souvenirs. I have written several articles about her including the one posted at this site, the one recently linked by Mark and I am working on a very large article about her scrapping in 1935/36. And, something new for this iste as well! Photographs from my collection can be seen in books by John Maxtone-Graham (Dazzle and Drab (OLM 2001) and his latest book Normandie (W.W. Norton & Co. 2007)), Janette McCutcheon (Mauretania: The Ship and Her Record (Tempus 2001), Cunard: A Photographic History (Tempus 2004)) and Mark Chirnside (Aquitania (Tempus 2008)). If you have any Mauretania stories to share, have Mauretania items to sell, need a print or slide restored, are looking for information about Mauretania items or for original items to buy please feel free to contact me - [email protected] or [email protected] Thanks, Eric
