Well I got another big milestone done. Finally sealed off the hull and got a decent but rough profile. She finally looks like a boat now. I need to fill out some gaps and steps with miliput but other than that I think it will look OK. Any suggestions?

The bulkheads are somewhat visible but the lighting plays a big part in this. I figured some oil canning effect would be realistic enough anyway

And the lines between the 2 different hull planes are stretched sprue that will eventually be weld lines

Do you plan to sell any of this, Mario? If so, that would be a first and really awesome!

Hello everyone,

I too have been 'tinkering' with an SOC-R boat, but mine is far, far smaller than the good looking creation from Mario at 1/144th scale. I've become quite excited dabbling in card models, rescaling them to predominantly 1/144th scale with some in 1/72nd and 1/35th scales. So my wee little beast is a card model and I will eventually try and add a Chinook chopper, I believe the correct one is the MH-47D version. I'm on the hunt for a plastic kit for this plus I'd like the add the 'raven' drone depicted in the very good movie 'Act of Valor'.

Anyway here is what I've done so far --- OK it seems I cannot upload a photo direct from my computer?????

Cheers,
Roger Pearson.

Well here's a bit of a sneak preview. It's a late update but it was worth it. A friend (an exquisite modeler himself) helped me out with the PE. There's a boat load of detail (pun intended) and I can't wait to get my hands on it this week... More to come soon!

There is no kit so there can't be any aftermarket I asked my friend to help me out with the design, so we made it by using photos and some drawings and came up with this.

Thanks!

I finally picked up my boat and this is the extent of the PE. Some details still have to be redesigned as I don't have accurate measurements for the engine cover handles and the side armor cut-outs. If anyone has an idea about these, I'd be more than happy to hear you out.

My friend really has great skills with PE, and I can't thank him enough and if you have a project that needs PE stuff like this, I'd highly recommend him just let me know. Anyway enough bragging about him, here's what I have so far:

Hey thanks for the interest. I took a huge hiatus from modelling anything since work took first place and made me unable to do any modeling since I virtually haven't got time for anything. BUT!
There's always a but ;D I did some internal ribbing and started to work on the command post. The thing that really beat me down are the jet nozzles. No clue in how to do them unfortunately.
Hopefully I will have some pics soon.
