Nice mines Looks good, along with the wheelhouse lighting

Yes, you are completely right. Channel Adversaries did "fizzle out" without a grand finale. I can imagine you would like to drop some mines.
For this my apologies

Be careful, Daniel, labeling mines, torpedoes, and bombs like that could start an internet modeling trend!

Hello Daniel.
Your mines look fantastic.
Hope the Tirpitz goes well.
I have been off the internet for a while since I moved to Adelaide in South Australia for a new job. Having only 8GB of data to play with, compared to 500GB, meant I had to be careful how I used my internet time.
I am back in Brisbane for the weekend and thought I may have a look in to see what is happening here.
I will be back online next month in our new home in Adelaide and will be able to start building models again as well, after I set up my new hobby room that is...
Cheers
Warren

Hello Friends of Channel opponents.
My next User meeting is up and coming in the first week of June and I am about to complete my S18 Schnellboot. Here you can see some pictures of the blocking rehearsal. What has been done in summary:
The torpedotubes are now screwed to the main deck and the open Torpedoend will be glued to the deck to ensure proper function when the torpedo is being shot woth pressured air.
You can see the 2 dv motors which are being used to open/close the Torpedo hatched. This takes about 5-7 seconds – which means this is not to fast. Funny side effect is that also on the other end a hand crank will turn as well.
The front screw/cogwheel block will be covered wioth the “nupsi” on the tube, but this needs some refinement this weekend before finaly placed.
The Wheelhouse needs it final detailing touch. i.e. desk/chair in the map room, radio behind the steering wheel, signal light on the roof.
The superstructure is complete (I recently stepped on the compass, well, soon I will have a new one printed), The Mickey Mouse vents are fine.
On the end you can see the first few parts of the 2 cm flak. The main body is 3d print, the arm rest and the handbars will be made of brass to make it more stable, The flak case and barrel are standard parts from Italeri/shatton
The inside of the boat was alos shaped a bit. All controllers find the spot and are fixed now by cable ties. I also added 2 cans for pressured air in the front to get the torpedo later shot from the tubes.
To make sure that the shot is performed only when the tube is open, I added a monitor motor inside the boat that is running in parallel to the torpedo hatches and in its end position (Open of hatches) it connects a switch which is enable the shot servo to be controlled. Than I can move the shot servo and release the pressured air from their bottles. Those bottles need to be filled by a regular bike punmp.
So much for the current status, I will continue.

Thank you Sean,
this boat is about to be completed, at least from a building perspective, some details might be added afterwards, e.g. the crew which is still in the process of being casted.
Than Robert an I will work on something big.
The 3D printing is realy a releaf, as now everything can be reproduced as long as measures/pictures are available a real katalyst, btw here is a link to an open source CAD System which is fre of charge, there are alos several Tutorials available in youtube to learn how to use it, besides a community

Well the User Meeting is gettining closer,I was about to finish the 2cm Flak unfortunately my mosquito mesh does not have the right measures to capture the shells of the 2cm Flak. I found now some brass meshm but this is certainly for later - after I meat the other builders from my forum.

Very nice work on the 2cm Flak.
Something I was contemplating at one stage in 1/72nd scale.

The Maiden rides was succesfull, still to much weight in the front with the airtanks for the torpedoshot, so it needs some balancing work, Otherwise the boat was running fine, opening smoothly the torpedohatches enjoy the pictures.
