nice work on the production line there, Si...

Seeing all those planes reminds me of the repetition required to build a carrier...

I feel your pain. My Mighty Mo rush has come to a near stall because of that.

Thanks mark,

One of these days I am going to be boring and build a US carrier closed up... (Nah not going to happen.)

I am really enjoying this kit, my opinion only, but this is so much better than Trumpy's Essex class kits.

This weekend's progress.

The remaining aircraft to go into the hanger completed.

Fitted into the hanger.

The deck, decals first.

The Kit decals were not the easiest to get in place over the deck detail, luckily the midships elevator will have a dauntless sat on it.

Getting the deck markings straight was fun, not made easier by some mis-numbering on the colour plan.

The deck finished.

fitted down.

Not the best fit, but that was likely the fit of hanger bulkheads, I would guess that is likely down to me; will need a little clean up.

Cheers

Si

Si,

Those planes look wonderful and having them sitting exposed on the hanger deck really enhances the detail of the model.

Installing and aligning decals on flight decks are always a challenge. It is hard enough on the 1/700 size ship let alone a 1/350. The job looks great and really stands out when the deck is sitting on the hull.

Nice progress.

Thanks Mark,

The deck was a bit of a fight to actually get in place, but likely due to me getting some of the supertructure bulkheads slightly out of alignment.

Nothing a little trimming & filling wonte cure.

Cheers

The deck looks great,Si!

I note though, that you had a bit of trouble getting the decals down?

Did you remember to apply a nice shiny gloss coat first and use a decal settling solution after positioning them?

Thanks Russ,

I did gloss the deck, and had the good old microset out.

The elevator markings were very troublesome, mostly because they were slightly too large, and trimming them down did cause some damage, and in the end I failed to get them to sit straight.

The midhsips elevator will by hidden under Dauntlesses, so with a bit of luck it won't be too visible.

cheers
