The first combat submarine to sink a warship, the CSS Hunley is coming as a 1/35 kit planned by Micro-Mir.
The Confederacy lost 21 crewmen in three sinkings of Hunley during her short career. The submarine was named for her inventor, Horace Lawson Hunley, shortly after she was taken into service under the control of the Confederate Army at Charleston, South Carolina. On February 17, 1864, Hunley attacked and sank the sloop USS Housatonic on Union blockade duty in Charleston's outer harbor. Soon after, Hunley sank, killing all eight of her third crew. This time, the innovative ship was lost for good before her wreck was discovered in 1995 and recovered in 2000.

Micro-Mir's kit (No. 35-013) is made up of about 45 solid and clear injected plastic parts.

The instructions include a parts illustration that indicate pieces that were not shown in photos on their website that could show them as photo etch parts which would be typical in their previous releases.

Not yet available, this kit listed for pre-ordering at Hannants for £21.83 (@$34.00 US) plus shipping.

Hmmmm....no PE? I hope this release is an improvement over earlier ones. I have their Neger and it's pretty pathetic!

B2, Here's an image of their Neger, built, from their site: To my untrained eye for the Neger, it looks pretty good but what was your direct experience? Also, I blew up their instruction sheet more to get a better look and went back to adjust the article to state that there are some items in the parts diagram that look like they could be photo etch, which is typical to their releases.
