Hi Mike, That's a grand looking boat you have there, very mean and nasty looking which is what they were all about. Really nicely finished. Great job, thanks for sharing the pictures. Cheers Al

I can only follow my shipmates on their comment: impressive paintjob and a very mean looking sub... keep up the work.

Thank you for all of the nice comments. I have to thank one of my best friends with the presentation of this kit. He is a carpenter and I asked him if he could make me a base and he made this beautiful mahogany base that you see here. It is also setting on billet aluminum mounts I had made in a machine shop. I used PE set from Yankee Modelworks Type VII U-boat Detail Set. I chose to use decals from U.L.A.D. Germany Type VIIc U-boat No: UL7202. When I saw the wood deck set from Nautilus Models I had to get it. The build took almost a month. It’s not what I would call a hard kit or I should say a complex one. It has a minimum of parts and sub-assembles. The hardest thing to do was to open all of the flooding holes in the hull. It is painted with Model Master enamels and weathered with oils and pastels. One other problem is the shear size of the kit it becomes hard to work around it and it’s so big I cant even keep at my house.
