Great dio, Rui! I like the way you angled the pier on the base and captured a whole lot of detail without overpowering the scene!

Gorgeous work..... also, as a "newbie" I learned a lot from this piece.... the assymetry, the use of color to contrast the "black" sub, how much a few accessories can enhance the dio. Inspirational AND educational, thanks for sharing!

Rock and roll, Rui! a great work of art and I bet 100% technically accurate as well. Cheers, Peter F

Most interesting diorama indeed. I think, with your permission of course, I am going to take some ideas for my Kilo/Alfa dock details. Splendid work indeed

Hi Filipe! No need to ask for permission! This dio is not exclusive, and if it can help other modelers improving/enhancing their own works, so... half of the purpose of having it online is accomplished! Thanks guys (Filipe, Peter, James, Bob, Jay and Alex) Your compliments motivate me to go a little further every time! Stay tuned... more "interesting" naval works soon! Rui

I agree! It's great Rui! I have to say I'm envious. I attempted to work with some 1/700th scale photo etch a few weeks ago and it was a disaster. I wish I had your talent and steady hand. Beautiful work..

Hey Steve! Long time no see! You don't need to be envious, you need to... practice! Please take a look at my first 1/700 model (JAG Collective - USS Forrest Sherman DD-931 (Early) ) and you can make a simple comparison... And btw, this model does not have that many PE parts. Thanks again for the incentive, Steve! Hope all is smooth with you and your family Rui

Guido sums it up best with you making the small so big. I love your small scale dioramas, Rui, and this one is another excellent addition!

And this is suppose to make me feel better? It's beautiful! I can relate with your frustration over the PE. However, yours had a far better outcome than mine. My railings tore just from handling them. The mast folded fine, but then was too short to be located over the funnel. Thank god for the Etch Mate! who knows how it would have turned out trying to make these folds without it. I just had a horrible time with the PE.(it's so dinky!) I have an Indianapolis that I bought along with a PE set and I really messed up the PE set. This was a test bed for the Saratoga and Saipan.... Things are fine here. Extremely busy, but fine. How are things for you?
