DKM Scharnhorst

  • move
Here we have the Tamiya 1/700 Scharnhorst with a Hobby boss U-Boat along side.

This commission of the Scharnhorst kit was stress free as the Tamiya kit even though it’s old, is still sharp and captures the lines of this elegant ship quite nicely so it is only the case of adding a bit of extra detail mainly on the bulkheads of the ships superstructure to make it visually more interesting. The small U-Boat along the ship enhances the sense of the size difference between those 2 vessels in real life.

This is one of the nicest 1/700 kits I've ever seen. Not that I've seen many, but still. Great job!

Very nice indeed with lots of detail. I really like the u-boat in that camo scheme as well.

Kind of rminds me of the cover of my old Squdron Kreigsmarine book. Specail as usual. I know where to reference a great set of pictures to do rigging with if they ever get aound to doing her in 350

Outstanding work in any scale let alone 1/700th. My meagre efforts are humbled in comparison but I am truly inspired for sure. Cheers Sean

wow....this was the best 1/700th i ever see....the ship doesnt look like 1/700. The dark sea really show the water is very deep.... Nice work Kostas
