Hornchurch Model Show 2010

"MSW crew-mate Peter Fulgoney (PeterF) shares a recent experience of the recent Hornchurch Model Show, held in March of 2010, with our mates from FineWaterline SIG!"

A great time this year at the Hornchurch Model Show with FineWaterLine showing a very strong display including Don McKeand's Telford gold medal winning diorama of Londonderry 1942; worth the entrance money just to see that, but also, a fine selection of kits from FineWaterLine made up by Rob Kernaghan on standby, to answer any questions about ships and modeling, and Don McKeand himself - what more could you want?

I also displayed my builds of Drumgeith, Osylabya, Gustloff, and German ac Elbe - never-was...a work in progress.

We also saw the phoenix Models stand where Austin had a beautifully presented display of waterline ships, and 1/72 scale aircraft.

Also there was something for everyone from the vendors including kits, books, and tools, I spent all of my pocket money!

All worth the time and money, and yes we are certainly booked for next year as well, where we look forward to seeing you, and talk about ships.

That's Austin's Mutsu build, Steve. He says he bought the retooled kit, and we all thought it looked great. And, thank you for your comments, guys, we always have a good time - I think we could stand in an open field by ourselves and still have a great day! Also, yes, great to see Rob working on masters again. Peter F
