Building the Garibaldi

The Build:
I began by prepping the hull with light (300 grit) sanding and minor flashing removal. I then set to work painting and detailing the under deck at the stern.

This ship has a large open deck underneath the flight deck which was cast on the hull, but had a second piece of the flight deck which went over it. So after painting the under deck, I tackled the seam issue on the flight deck. There are no details on the flight deck. It is perfectly smooth and flat. (Save the pre-molded multi-positioned second elevator ) This is both good and bad for the modeler. Details tend to get sanded off, but details can be used to hide a seam line.

Hi David Thank you for sharing your experience with this kit! It turned out very good and it is really a shame that the model doesn't include a dedicated PE set. You managed to make a very interesting finished product Congratulations Cheers Rui
