1⁄350IJN Yamato

The kit is an old tool Tamiya Yamato (1/350).
I tried to capture the play of light and shadow across the sea and the ship. I imagine her crashing through heavy seas with other ships during a training exercise.

yes I did. Hey we have about 16 of us that meet once a month at the China Rose restaurant. We are not a club but just a bunch of serious modellers that like to hob-nob together and enjoy Great chinese food. We bring something to show and put it on the table. Please come out and join us. This coming Tuesday Dec3 at 6:30. China Rose restaurant. in the VIP room. Bob

A truly magnificent build Chris, sorry for the late reaction but I missed this when first posted. The wet deck is almost as impressive as the bow wave and spray.

Now THAT'S water! The overall wet look topside, the seawater sloshing on the forecastle, and the wonderful green tint to the sea really make this diorama come alive.

Thanks you guys. I always find ship models so Matte and dry looking. It's a catch 22...you start adding gloss...you start seeing flaws! I'm doing a KGV in a storm and I'm going to 'attempt' to have all the top surfaces of things wet and reflective. gulp.

Sorry i'm late, but I do need to climb on this bandwagon with both feet. Wonderful in every way. Ditto to all the comments above.

It was great meeting you Chris, joining our group and seeing your Yukakaze. Equally impressive. Looking forward to our next meeting and I will bring my USS Langley. You can have a sneak-a-peek at the Iron Shipwright site. Bob
