HMCS Arrowhead

  • move
Chris Flodberg shares with us some images of his HMCS Arrowhead Flower Class Corvette in a diorama setting. This was a very tedious conversion from Mirage's dreadful 1/350 HMS Anchusa Flower Class Corvette to the rather different HMCS Arrowhead. I used White Ensigns PE and had to rebuild or re-arrange just about everything. I also used some scrap PE, NorthStar and Eduard details. All landscape elements are scratch-built including the seagulls.

Chris, I know this is a 1/350 kit but a tiny one since it's a corvette. Did you still use oatmeal for the water shaping?

I sure did. dry oat bran shaped until happy, hit it with CA, then lots and lots and lots of layers of gel medium and clear medium until it's very buried and filled. I sand the oats before I do this though.
