Hey all,
Great photo's. I have never seen or been on a aircraft carrier before and it always amazies me just how big these ships are. To bad they don't have one close to Michigan so I can take a gander.

Is the KIttyhawk still in service? I know they were planning on striking the last diesel powered carrier, but I don't remember which one or when it was to take place.

Aye, Steve, she is...In 2008 Kitty Hawk will be replaced as the forward-deployed carrier in Yokosuka, Japan by the USS George Washington (CVN-73)...

That's what I thought the Japanese are still touchy about nuclear stuff and there was some concern about the Washington porting there
