Hi everyone! After a few false starts, I've finally found out how to post on this site. Here are some in-progress shots of my submission for the SOTQ #1. It's the HP 1/700 Uss Wyoming, the last of the monitors built by the US. It should be done in about 2 to 3 weeks on the outside. Take care, Bob Cicconi

I thought I went blind when I didn't see a photo.
So I took the liberty of posting one of your photos Bob, so everyone can see it.

Looks good so far.
Interesting ship, could you provide information on where to pick this kit up?

Very interesting looking ship Bob. Any details on this? Scratchbuilt, resin, plastic, what kit, etc?

Thanks for the nice comments, and also for making it so everyone can see the ship. I can't navigate this website worth a darn! The kit is resin, from Imperial Hobby Productions in PA. It wasn't very expensive, and is nicely cast. The subject matter is the USS Wyoming, one of the Arkansas class monitors, the last ones ever built by the US. After they started using state names for battleships, the Wyoming was renamed the Cheyenne. It was in existencce until about 1938. The main armament is the twin 12" guns in the forward turret. It also had some smaller guns in the main deck structure and on the uppermost deck. I think they were 4" and smaller. I'll have to double-check. Here is IHP's website if anyone is interested in this or his other items: http://ihphobby.tripod.com/

Very interesting type of ship. Wasn't there one at Corrigidor or was that a concrete thing in the water? Seems I remember something like that from old history ersearch many years back.
