Are the decks painted with blue stain or are they a medium gray? I like that they painted it real dark gray like it was during world war 2. Cant remember is the Alabama/Massach./ Missouri/ and NC painted ww2 or other scheme....deck wise

Blaster,
It looked to me that they used dark grey for the decking. You can see in one of the photos wear the paint has been worn away and you can see the wood deck and the paint does look grey. Those were some great shots but it looks like the sun messed up some of the photos putting shadows on the ship (darn mother nature). Great photo spread.

Not sure. It's been a while since I've been to the Texas.

No offense Steve but this ship is the only reason I'd ever visit Texas. I really do want to visit her though. These pics will have to tide me over until then.
Gad, I've been hanging out here too long. When I first opened the picture gallery and saw that 40mm mount my first thoughts were, "Dang, that's incredible. What scale and who makes that kit?"

I've never been down there. San Jacinto is ay down south and a 6 hour or so car ride aint high on my ist. Now to me, the Alamo is what you come to Texas to see. Everything else can be seen in other states...rattlesnakes, scorpions and coyotes....of course i can see all those in my neighborhood
