I've got a year before this one starts..I'll hold off until close to then 'cause can't say where I'll be in a year
Posted: Wednesday, June 27, 2007 - 08:21 AM UTC
I know this is still a year away but it will creep up on you when you least expect it.
So sound off on what you are thinking to build even if its one of those not yet released items.

I think I might do the R.N. Pola for this campaign after all:
http://www.steelnavy.com/MiniHobbyPolaLR.htm
Judging by how long it takes me to complete even a simple model, there is no way I would complete a Hood with upgrades in that timeframe.
PS. That one wasn't built by you, was it? Looks like the same name.

Hi Ion, no not built by me, but very nice all the same.
Luciano is not a common name but at the same time its not rare either. It is also one of those names for which there is no english translation.

I really don’t know what I’ll be building yet. I’ll have to pick something up.
As much as I’ve been waiting for such a build to come along you’d think I’ld have one.

Can't say I'm too happy to hear that. I pre-ordered it from Great Models 3 weeks ago. Can't get the site to come up. Is there going to be a price change? It was running just uder $70 and the pre-order was $48

Blaster,
the page lists the price at 64.95, I couldn't find what the pre-sell price is.

Thanks Frank. That is the same price so that means my pre-order price will likely hold. Specualtion is after the kit was so harshly ripped they pulled it back to correct the errors. So a 4 month delay will be worth it if that occurs.

Chaps
At the moment I'm looking at the USS Juneau (DML) as an out of the box build, followed by HMS Tiger (yes the old Airfix kit, which I've wanted to build since I saw it in the Airfix cat way back in 1977!) , which will no doubt require a bit more work.
Cheers

I was wondering how come this campaign was allocated only 5 months when the small craft one is over a year? With my pace, that will be just enough time to complete the escape boats for the cruiser.
Is it possible to make it at least a year? I'll be building the Hood and that bad boy is going to take me a while!

Ion, the time frame is decided by the campaign leader, and of course, are definitely flexible, and extensions are always an option as well...I made the decision to run the Small Craft campaign so long just in case anyone wanted to do a more complicated build, dio, etc (in which I definitely encourage!)....

I'm in on this one, not quite sure which ship I will build as of now, from the looks of it there is still plenty of time to go before it begins.

Glad to have you on board Shawn, as you say there is plenty of time but it will soon catch up with you

hello Luciano,
is the Admiral Scheer allowed.they called them class "Pocket Battleships".but i think that they were either large Cruiser's or weak Battlecruisers.

The Admiral Scheer was reclassified as a heavy cruiser in 1940 so it should be good to go. He was a lot closer to a battlecruiser than a battleship to begin with anyway. I just picked one up for myself and enter with it.

Hey Bruce,
I haven't decided yet, I might go for prewar but I will have to wait and see. I only have a few pictures of him and they are all prewar. After I am done with my current project a Perry class frigate and a missile boat that came with it I'll look around and decide what I want to do.

Ok, I enlisted in the GB, will build the Altanta Class Cruiser USS San Diego, 1:700, Dragon Premium edition #7072. Will build OOB (with the PEs included in the premium kit) and on a stand.
