Thanks Fabio,
I had seen some photos of the un-made kit and had already placed an order with my local model shop for one, having seen these made up shots I`m glad I did, so lets see, that will be a 1/35th SLC-200, 1/72 IJN A-Target Type A Pearl Harbor, 1/350 IJN Submarine I-400 and a 1/144 Type VIIC in going into the stash within the next 3 months, to think I had never built a boat before last year.

Thanks for your words guys! The only think to pay attention witt the Maiale are the PE: just "cook" them up on a candle or a lighter because they're a bit on the thick side...

Ciao Fabio
Thansk for giving us your first thoughts on the Maiale
You have made an excellent job with it, but comparing the Italeri model with the real SLC 200 Maiale at Museo Storico Navale in Venezia there are some points that I would like to comment:
#1 - The absence of the compressed air bottleas and guard after Number Two seat
#2 - Painting scheme (although the two green colour scheme showed on the walkaround could be a later modification)
#3 - The model looks very similar to a OOP model by New Model System (from Italy) with the exception of the correct reinforced shield:
Thank you Fabio
Auguri,
Skipper

A little background history on these would be cool. I seem to remember these being used as mini subs for frogmen. Or are they guided torpedoes?

Hi Steve
These were manned torpedoes, that were delivered from Mother sub or from a hidding place near Gibraltar, a semi-sinked italian cargo ship Olterra and then driven by two divers/frog men into the harbours (Alexandria and Gibraltar) and place their 500kg (near 1000 lb) explosive warhead (time bombs, if you wish) and leave the place - on the walkaround I have a small history of them
Cheers,
Skipper
