I have drawings (General Arrangements)of the Quad 20MM THUNDERBOLT, available as a JPG File now, ready to download for ANY who have the space to download such a large file!
If you prefer the actual drawings I could see what can be done.
A copy has been shipped to GUNNY.
Pieter.

hi and thanks guys and girls for the kind comments and suggestions, here's the latest progress on the boat and figures..kinda slow lately due to the conversion of the crew..the figures composes of humvee drivers, kubelwagen driver,US tank commander, israeli TCs,germanTCs and a couple of FAMO crew. i've thrown in some resin heads and spare helmets. hope you like 'em.

Hi Ed!

Nice looking Elco - the crew really makes a difference!
Can we have a MOD on it?
You haven't submitted anything for MSW in a looooong time

Hi Ed,

Again, very nice job on the kit sir.

I HATE to appear like a know-it-all ... but ... the life rings? They should be painted in the same color as the area that they are in front of. There is a picture of PT-588 at a dock that would verify my statement.

The torpedo warheads? Someone will probably jump down my throat for saying this; but the warheads were either painted to match the base color of whatever Camouflage Measure the boat was in or painted to match the area of the scheme that they were in front of.

I'm not saying this to be nit-picky or to be a know-it-all but I'm just trying to be helpful.

thanks guys..my only reference for the color was the manufacturer's booklet..the rest was looking to other PT boats on the thread. how do i like it?..very much...though i ran out of imagination to fill up the deck. italeri should have throw in a lot of stuff to make the boat more enjoyable to build..this one was sitting for a long time in my work area...staring at it..and weathering it till it was done. aftermarket crew would be nice...life-vest jacket..more guns and more equiptments. and alternate layout of the boat would be interesting. interior and engine bay details would be nice also. i was also thinking of making water from clear resin..but it didn't push through..diorama and stuff. i've learned also..the bigger the model..the harder to take pictures. my matt blue background was not enough to cover the size of the boat. if i have time to re-shoot this on a bigger space..i'll send some images for the MOD. one thing was nice i've gotten used to figure conversion and articulating them. now that's enjoyable. anyway..i have a spare PT boat waiting to be build. hopefully more reference material and aftermarket parts will be available then. thanks again for the nice words and comments. ed

Hi Ed, I really like the way your boat came out. The figures look very good, the two near the bow in khaki are very interesting. I'd like to know, did you convert them? If so, from what? Two suggestions, first, the two 55 gal. drums should be secured somehow. They would create havoc in any kind of sea, unless the boat was docked. Second, the forward .50 gunner, only officers wore khaki, so he should be in dungarees. Al

Great effort there Ed.

Good images and the Boat comes to life when figures are added.

I wish the 50 cal rounds had been better detailed
Something like come in the old Tamiya weapons set.

Cheers

Hi
Very nice build. Looks great with the crew. I know what you mean about the .50 cal ammo links , I replaced mine with Aber etch as they looked a lot better .

thanks guys. very much appreciated. i picked up only 5 figures to replace some on the crew. the italeri figures were not that sharp on details and lines. i replaced some with heads from dragon. i've retouched the figures by adding some putty on the backside and collar. the helmets are wrong shape. i replaced them with tamiya's helmets.
