Hi all, was thinking about buying either the Trumpeter or Italeri 1/35th LCM3 to convert into a Vietnam Tango boat, ( I know it needs lengthening) but was going to do it as a waterline - to save buying a £35 kit only to cut 2/3 of the hull away, and disguise the rest with bar armor; does anybody know of any scale plans for me to scratchbuild from? I'm sure I stumbled across a topic on here somewhere about monitors and tangos but as always I can never find it second time around...

All help appreciated (to save me from spending too much at Telford in two weeks time!)

Ahoy Richard!

I don't know what price range you're looking for, mate, but here's a couple of choices from Masterpiece Models...I had the pleasure of seeing one of these kits up close and personal, and what a kit!

Hi Richard

Those should be (almost 100% sure) Gordon's , aka Treadhead, if my mind serves me well.
Give me a little time to see if I can find one of his Tango posts...

Cheers,
Skipper

That looked like a great project - did he finish it? And I've seen the site of the guy who did the masters for the masterpiece resin models - again - utterly brilliant...
I'll get there in the end - and I'm willing to bet if I see a masterpiece kit up close, my hand wil go into my wallet again...
Looks like handmade gifts for the family this Christmas once more... LOL
