hello my loyal subjects,
WE have submitted the royal campaign for the pre-dreadnoughts. The only thing WE forgot was to add is this: the ships that are to be allowed are the following: Any battleship, any Cruiser, Armored Cruiser, Coastal Moniter, or Torpedo boat. if built in the timeline of 1866-1905.
cheers to all my loyal subjects,
King Bruce The First

Hi Guys

Do you think the IJN Mikasa would fit into the campaign?

If so I have a real chance to get the Hasegawa 1/350the IJN Mikasa.

Is it any good?

Cheers

hello Sean,
if by the IJN MIKASA,you mean the ship that was built by Vickers G.B. launched in 8Nov.1900
commissioned 1March 1902.with an armament of 4 x 12 inch main guns, 14 x 6 inch guns,20 x 3 inch guns and 4 x 16 inch underwater torpedo tubes.she had a speed of 18 knots and a crew of 860.if this is the ship you are asking about, then yes she is o.k. for this campaign.sorry but for once i can show off a little.i own a book called Warships of the Imperial Japanese Navy 1869-1945.hoe all is well in New Zealand in the spring/summer(hope i got that right.)
cheers,
Bruce

I've built this one and i rate it as an excellent kit, lots of detail etc. Though i still think it's a bit pricy compared to 1/350 injection kits from other makers...i mean it's actually not much bigger than some WW2 Destroyers. But it has no competion in it's class.

Thanks guys.

I might see if I can swing a deal and get the kit.

Bruce - I am impressed by your knowledge. I thought you must have been reading my recent GWT Instalment on the mighty IJN Mikaasa LOL. Yes its spring/summer here at the moment buddy.

Andrew - yes dollar/size wise the Mikasa is on the smaller size indeed.

Cheers

hello Sean,
that looks like a good pick for this campaign.are you going to model her as she looked new or as she fought in the Ruusian-Japanese War?

Hi Bruce

I am not sure exactly how I am going to build her I will decide over the next year after doing a little research.

By the way after a quick perusal of the kit in the box boy she's a very nice looking project. I am now saving for the Lion Roar after market set.

Cheers

Hi Sean,

The Hasegawa kit Is Very Nice! (IMHO)
You might also consider the Lion Roar PE set. Complete with turned brass barrels for the main and secondary guns. Well worth the price, which is a little steep.

Bruce,

Sorry, I have been lazy and not checking all threads. The build is coming along and when I get home tonight I'll post an update with a photo or two.
