Hey there!
I recently bought the 1/350 The Sullivans from Trumpeter. And am wondering what photo etch set to buy for it. Since I typically model armor and figures (with a 1/700 USS Laffey being the exception) I am kind of at a loss.
Any thoughts? I probably just need the basiscs...radar, railings...that kind of thing.
Thanks!

I just finished The Sullivans and used the Tom's Modelworks PE kit for it. It's only my second time using PE so I'm no expert but I was happy with it. It includes items to upgrade the 40mm and 20mm guns, radar, depth charge racks, depth charge throwers, rails and ladders. Be aware the Trumpeter kit includes rigs for both 1943 and 1945 and the PE set can be used for both so there will be some items not used no matter what rig you go with.

I have built quite a few 350 scale ships. I have used Tom;s, White Ensign, Gold Medals, and Lionroar PE sets. For the money Tom's is the best way to go. You get great quality (as it is for all of them) they don't give you tons of "cut this plastic part up and replace it with a PE part that may or may not look better" They usually are 5 to 20 dollars chaeper and are easier to find for sale in the US. If you want the best most highly detailed all inclusive Lionroar or getting the 2 or 3 sets that White Ensign designs to cover a kit.
