Looking better and better all the time. Is this a multimedia build? The early pix look like a cardboard/posterboard material or are you just using styrene and getting some aftermarket goodies to supplement your build?

all that you said is true about the styrene and cardboard/posterboard. the extra 40's and 20's were in my parts box that has to be refill, but I wouldn't call it a multimedia build. Thanks for looking

Well, it really is an exceptional build. Especially since there isn't even a resin version of this to the best of my knowledge. I would love to get a Midwy or a Forrestal class A/C in my collection. I hope one day Trumpeter will get around to it. I really loved their Nimitz, in fact it is the pride and joy of my entire model collection which is well over 200 built kits so far.

I noticed all the intricate detail under the side elevator. Did you use the brass from the Essex set to do this?

Excellent work! I'm anxiously awaiting the finish of the this build. MY dad served on the USS Coral Sea CVB-43 in 1952 and the FDR often traded places with them in the Med. I've always loved the Midway Class in the 1940/50's configuration.

Anybody knows how to fix a problem of changing a decal color to yellow from black? http://is129.photobucket.com/albums/p226/raider-hall/100_0709.jpg http://is129.photobucket.com/albums/p226/raider-hall/100_0710.jpg http://is129.photobucket.com/albums/p226/raider-hall/100_0711.jpg http://is129.photobucket.com/albums/p226/raider-hall/100_0712.jpg

I can imagine how hard it is to do those little aircraft.

Looking good, thanks for the Updates!

Those are the Trumpeter aircraft and even though they are multipieced (around 10 parts) they are fairly easy to do. I put together around 60 of those for my Nimitz and 40 or so each for my Essex and Lexington. I've got the Tamiya planes for my Nuc Enterprise, but thinking about trashing those and getting the Trumpeter Tomcats and Hornets instead. It would be great if somone would put out an early jet set so you could do it up late KOrean war with those Banshees and the like on deck.
