This sounds good, as I have already started the master for the SS Venture sometime ago.
This may just give me the incentive to finish her!

Bruce,

They might have used the Enterprise for the ship, but the ship in the movie was the USS Nimitz. I remember one of the characters (in 1941) commenting about naming a ship after a curently serving admiral.

They definitely used the Nimitz in the movie. My brother-in-law served on the Nimitz around that time and recognized some of the sailors in the movie.

Come on mates!

I know you want to see a PINK submarine! Man, you could even do the Titanic or the Love Boat! How about the powerboat off of Miami Vice? And, don't forget Columbus' ships from the movie 1492. Or the "Bounty", "Seaview", "SeaQuest", or that cool flying mini-sub.

The list is endless...

I'm in.

I'll be doing the Sea Quest, although I have Thunderbird 4 too.

I was glad to see the Minnow listed, it was the first thing I thought of when I seen the start of Ken's list.

Now the song is stuck in my head!

Now, sit right back and hear the tale, the tale of a fateful trip.

Which by the way Gator, how long did it take you to compile this list!? I wouldn't have even hazard a guess that there were that many possibilities. I'm impressed!

I wanna know how you're going to add the sound of the engine backfiring and the gurgling sound.

Sorry, I hadn't seen that you added the Orca to your list already. My bad.

Oh, this is the PERFECT Group build to do with my daughter! Problem will be holding off her requests to start on the Pirates of the Carribean Revell kit (which I know looks nothing like the ship from the movie itself!). Maybe I can pick up something else before the start, but in anycase, count me in for sure on this one! Cheers, Jim

Ahoy Kenny

Just a small point of clarification does it have to be a "Hollywood" movie or not?

"This Campaign celebrates Hollywood's fictitious look at seafaring. From the days of sail to modern power boats, the call of the sea is an escape from the work-a-day life we lead.

From the Nautilus to the Sea Tiger, the Black Pearl to Beachhead Belinda, let's celebrate Hollywood at Sea.

The Rules and Regs
Rules and Regs
1) Any fictitious vessel from a movie or television show can be built in any scale from any nation and from any time period. All media types from plastic to resin, wood to fibreglass are permitted."

Rule and Regs 1 as outlined above does not refer to a "Hollywood" movie or television show. The reason I ask is whether the U Boat in tthe movie Das Boot (made by German Studios) would fall into the rules and regs and more importantly the spirit of the campaign?

I suspect from the spirit and intent of the statements and information it may not but I would just like to know.

Cheers
