Air Force had not one, not two, but three players who each ran for over 100 yards. They have to be invited to a bowl now.

I got the main painting done on my lifeboat for No Guns Allowed. Red lower hull, white upper hull and upper works, and wood trim. For the wood I've painted it gray, then I'll be painting over the gray with a brown oil paint to simulate the wood. With the holiday coming up, and two extra days off, I may be able to finish her this weekend.

Here is wishing everybody a early Happy Thanksgiving.

Well, my weekend was a fun and semi productive time. I did not get a chance to do any kit building, but I did get a chance to finally get my storage shed under construction. It is a big kit all to its self. Just like a plastic model kit the advice, read the instructions, is just as important. I should get it done this weekend and get it filled as well.

In other business, we moved our spare car out of our way. I have to say, dang, it was heavy. Got my wives pottery fired and now it is ready to get glazed and sent to the gallery for this coming weekend.

Went and saw American Gangster, very good movie. I also watched Monty Python’s Holy Grail and Disc one of Band of Brothers. The first episode of Band of Brothers is based on the camp that was close by me, Camp Taccoa. When they show Currahee Mountain they had to remove all of the radio antennas from the summit.

Maybe this coming week I can get some build time, only time will tell.

Well lets see here.

Wanted to get the door on my shed this weekend but its still not there.

I did manage to get some shop time in and did some work on an oak model base I’m building for someone. Also ripped and started sanding some strips for some butcher blocks.

Oh and I did a little work on a 1/72 Stuka. Yea I know it’s not a ship but it’s better then nothing.

Hi Kenny

Started getting my E Boat hull etc ready for paint.

Started gluing on the deck fittings etc and planning out the painting process.

Hoping to get the paint tomorrow.

Plus I also got into tidying up my modelling area. Its still a work in progress though.

Cheers

Greetings all,

Well lets see; Dennis Oliver's British Armour in Sicily/Italy arrived along with some Policemen from Accurate Armour! I made a little modelling time and got some work done on my Universal Carriers, and Centaur Dozer and I also spent some time over at U Models checking out there latest figures with a view to a future purchase, along with a visit to Japanese Armour King to checkout their sailors.

I got a little more organised in my modelling space although from the pieces scattered all over the place you wouldn't think so but it's getting more useable with each day.

I also managed to read Skippers article and view his boats and subs, excellent stuff and checked out the Ships on ScaleModelWorld 2007 which also had some stunning builds.

Caught the cold and struggled through the day today

It's a hard life if you weaken

Cheers

Al

What a miserable football weekend. With Alabama, VMI and the Raiders losing and the Cowboys and Notre Dame winning...it is the complete opposite of what I want. Especially bad since the Citadel absolutly embarrassed the Keydets and lowly Louisiana -MOnroe humbled mighty Alabama. TV also turned out to be exceptionally skunky this weekend so I ended pulling out a bunch of dvd'd from the old Remington Steele TV show.

MOdel wise...well I got tired of working on the Black widow so she stands awaiting paint about 85% complete. I ripped off a 1 / 1200 scale Scharnhorst in a couple of days and cracked into a Bradley (35th)

The weather is nutso we have 4 days of high 70's to middle 80's then wham down to the low 50's for highs. Does a damn-damn on most of your sinuses. So now we are in the 80's phase with Wednesday the predicted major temp drop.

I spent a very enjoyable hour or so looking over the ships in that post on Sunday. Great photos, some really nice ships, I liked it a lot.

Oh, and to top off yesterday I took the little grand son over to the LHS where they have after hours modeling to show him off to the folks there. Got a lot of compliments. One guy tried to put a bottle of paint into his carrier so he could get the feel of it.

I wish you success with your endeavor Rodger. I tried with my nephew, but unfortuneatly his dad is a sportaholic, so the kid has developed that way. Tried model railroading and scouting as well. Dad (a pretty sharp lawyer and a fair athlete) just didn't or wouldn't do anything to help develop other interests. The kid despite being brilliant will probably end up at Okla(vomit) homa. My neice who is a high school national merit scholar with unbelievable SAT's is thinking about Colorado. Well she is still a juniour so maybe we can still influence her. If she beaks up with her boyfriend who is going there then she'll go to Texas or Vanderbuilt or Alabama (if her mother and I hav any influence)

Sorry Kenny...I want her to not go to a merely "goodschool" but to a great school. Alabama has either been ranked #1 or #2 in the most merit scholras for the past 7 years. (the last 2 being #1) Their business school is one of the top dozen or so in the Nation. The Med and LAw schools have some of the most sought after graduates.in the entire Southeast. She could probably go Ivy League, but that is East Coast and too far away from the family. Of course in the scheme of things if she graduates cum laude like her mom, it really doesn't matter a whole lot
