What is the proper dilution to achieve scale color effect in 1/350 scale? I have not previously worked inthis small a scale, but on 1/72 scale aircraft sometimes diluted the color by 25-30% with good results.

That's an excellent question, and one I'm interested in seeing an answer to. I can only say it may just take trial and error. I personally haven't tried adjusting paints to allow for effect.

I'm l;ike Rodger, I don't mess with it. I probably would go with washes and making paint lighter than what you see. Trial and error is the only way to do something like this as I have never heard of a specific rule in this regard. Ships weren't like planes. The crews did most of the painting while at sea so coats would be brushed on and pretty thick to fight against corrossion. Big paint jobs would be done at bases
