Keep this in mind . Thre were a bunch of Fletcher class Destoyers built. Some had what is called a round bridge some of which had a square bridge. The numbers are mixed throughout the series. I have a list of what is round and what is square. The Tamiya kit has the round, there is a Trumpeter kit ...the Sullivans which features the square bridge. I have heard they are fairly comparable as to quality and acuracy and price.

Sean

Yeah, you had some influence there! It's smaller, which could be either a + or a -; regardless, a good kit to start with I'm thinking too.... that one paragraph I linked in my previous post set it for this kit....#13 sits too strong for me not to do this one.

Steve

I first realized the different bridge types when looking at a couple of links for PE and whatnot. The Tamy kit has the round bridge (which is DD 445) and the GMM set has PE for both, so that'll probably be the way I go.

Anyhow, I'm probably going to contact the Fletcher's web-folk....see if I can get some additional pictures (and, if they have a permanent "base," may see if they'd like this donated to their organization [assuming they don't already have one built]). After I've contacted them, and "things are kool," I'll send them this link (let 'em know I'm serious) and then eventually the link to the build. I'm "all for this kinda thing"...you know, a purpose.

May be worth checking out.
