Anyone want to hazard a guess as to the colors applied to Akitsushima for the Aleutian campaign. If you can name them with Colourcoats, so much the better.
That dazzle ?? scheme struck me as something odd enough to build.

I don't know the answer to your question as I don't have a pic of the ship. I generally go with a dark gray color from modelmaster when painting Japanese I don't recall the Japanese using cammo on anything other than A/C flight decks, but I don't have a ton of references to know any better. I am sure that John Snyder from WEM when he sees this can give you the exact answer you need.

Hi Ken,
Not quite sure what the colours are, but based on the box art from the Pit Road kit, you should be able to match them. Unfortunately, the back of the box shows a monotone scheme, not much use of the colour chart provided.
I have one photo of the Akitsushima (port side) showing her splinter camo, and it matches the front art work quite well. (Okrety Lotnicze, Japony by Grzegorz Barciszeski... Militaria series pg 124)
My model was completed about 5 years ago, way too stark in my colour choices. If I where to paint her today, I would mute the paint by adding grey to better achieve the necessary 700th scale effect.

I've seen a few modelers use green paint in the camo, like these:
