As an armor/figure modler, I am becoming acutely aware as to how much BIGGER the Tirpitz is compared to a US destroyer.
I enjoyed the model of my USS Laffey so much that I am dipping my feet alittle further into the wet side with Dragons 1/700 Tirptiz. Being an armor modler...the I have built 1/35 AA guns, and the 1/700 DML AA guns supplied in the kit do not cut it for me.
Anyhow, here is my question. Is there a Good all-encompassing set for the Tirpitz? I have found lots of seperate sets, but if I get all of them it will be over $100. (for a kit that cost $24). Any suggestions?
Thanks!

Steveo. ONe tihing that is readily avaiable for ships is great PE. Unlike 35th scale armor, you really do NOT have to replace barrels. They come once piece and usually fairly straight and tapered right out of box. I build 350 scale (twice the size of 700) and have used some of the metal ones and honestly it has not been a tremendous improvemnt. AA guns in my scale are getting done up in PE sets more and more. Personally, I would look for a brass set that gives you cranes, radars, railings and gun shields to enhance the kits parts. Toms and Gold Medal MOdels offer great non-expensive choices as well as WHite ENsign models. They just are noticably cheaper
