Ahoy mates!
After putting construction on hold last year, my 1/700 shipyard is almost complete. I created a backdrop for my "in progress" photos.

Here's the set up. I'm working on the details, buildings, crane, vehicles..., now.

Standard production shots.

Now, to come up with a name. What do you think of...
Calcasieu Shipyard (parish name)
Contraband Shipyard (named for one of the bayous pirate Jean Lafitte roamed)
Loup Industries Shipbuilding

Suggestions please.

Hi Kenny,

Looking excellent. That's the beauty of building in that scale so much more is possible in a given space.

Don't forget some clouds and seagulls on the backdrop

Great work, look forward to seeing some more.

'Port Gator' lol, lol

LOup INdustries would be fine. I kinda like Gatorville or Swamptown , of maybe Rajun Caijun. Is that backdrop form a train related source?. It looks a little rustic to me. Maybe you could add some interesting scratch built buildings or something to spice it up a bit.

Steve, the background is a photo I took at the lake looking at one of the many ship terminals we have. I resized the photo to the size I needed and printed on inkjet vinyl decal material at work and stuck it on some foam board. I'm in the process of building a large mechanics shop that will go along the back of the shipyard.

OK, just looking at it initially, I was seeing what appeared to be a lot of grain silos and large piles of grain and I was thinking way up north where trains bring all that stuff in to General Mills and Kellogs. Very interesting on how you made that. Appreciate the details.
