I am happy to announce that Mark Smith is now Managing Editor for Model Shipwrights. As anyone who frequents this site knows, Mark has been the driving force behind much of the site's growth this past year or more. In partnership with Rui and Kenny they have done a great job in making MSW a great scale modeling site for ship builders. This change in title is probably a bit overdue and for that Mark has my apologies. I know he will continue to do a great job!

Best wishes for a great 2008!

Cheers,
Jim

Thanks guys, you're the best!

I really do appreciate all the kind remarks, and I would like to say that it will be my honor and pleasure to continue on our quest to take MSW to the stellar heights that I know that we are capable of...we have a rapidly growing membership, all a great bunch of modelers, with a busy year planned...and I do have much more in the slipway in store for the site as well! So with this said, let's continue on in our ever so positive direction, full steam ahead!!

Cheers,
Mark

Congratulations Mark
You just have to keep on being so enthusiastic as you have been so far... and please, PLEASE, get some time to build some models
I know and you know that life sometimes "gets in the way", but I wish you all the best!

Congratulations Mark,
But I certainly do expect a proper Naval Change in Command Ceremony.

Although I would prefer to skip the change of command ceremony. All that standing around for an hour at parade rest gets a little tedious...and it's always hot..

I forgot about all that standing around at Parade Rest. So, I second the idea of skipping all that Ceremony stuff.

Hi Mark,

Congratulations and good luck in 2008. Didn't realise there was a change in the wind. What's Skipper going to be doing?

Cheers

What no change in command ceremony!
I'm shocked and appalled!

No traditions any more..... no traditions any more....
Next they start dressing sailors in bus driver suits, and everyone will be call Ralph.
Now where did I leave my ball bearings?

Class "A"s and helmet liners do not mix well with the Louisiana sun.....in August..nor January for that matter. And besides there are all those long-winded speeches...

Mark,

Sorry to turn up at the party late, been a bit under the weather this weekend but I would like to say:-

Well done my friend, no offence to anyone else but I can`t at this moment think of anyone better to do the job.

Hi Al

I guess I will keep on doing what I have been doing, since I stepped down from ME... editing and publishing and making some models - helping others
I'll still be around - you don't get rid of me this easily
