Today, we had a donation of books come in which included a six volume set of books written on the history and construction of the SS, Leviathan written by Frank Braynard. Man this has to be the most definitive work ever produced on this particular ship! Unbelievable!

And here I just commented in another thread about Kansas being a naval desert.

That must be a nice set. I've never thought of Kansas as a particular strong naval state, maybe Army or Air Force.

Its always nice to come across treasures such as that.

It is a very nice set. Each volume is around 200- 400 pages. Lots of plates in both color and black and white. Very detailed stuff.



One of the guys I went to grad school with did some work regarding Kansas and the Navy. As it turned out, Kansas was heavily recruited by the Navy in WWII because of the farm kid's experience with large machinery and diesel engines. I know...
