Ahoy mates!

I scored a couple of great deals at our club's IPMS contest today. First, a buddy swamped me a Tamiya Vosper torpedo boat today for an F-16. Then, I got Eduard's 1/48 US Navy Personnel for a future project , and the old Skyway 1/700 Navy Yard set. Got skunked in the contest but had a ball with the guys.

Gator -

Looks like you're 'Club' has some pretty talented builders. Good competition brings out the best in everyone competing I like to think. Sorry you didn't come out better especially with the outstanding builds of yours that I've seen. Sounds like you managed to get a couple of good trades though. I saw that you got the "old Skyway" Navy Yard set. I found another old kit in a 'stash' box the other day. It's the "Skywave" 1/700 "Bunkers for S-Boats and U-Boats" set. If you or anyone is interested, I'd be glad to give it out. Also still have several 'extra' 1/700 'Waterline' kits that I need to 'donate'. Just too many other AFV projects going on right now for me to get to. Maybe you could use them for 'prises' on a Group Build or just for anyone looking for a kit. Just let me know and if anyone that wants one, just send me a PM. Here they are:

Fujimi 1/700th Waterline Japanese Battleship Kirishima
Fujimi 1/700th Waterline Japanese Battleship Kongo
Hasegawa 1/700th Waterline USS South Dakota
Tamiya 1/700th Waterline Japanese H.Cruiser Kumano
Tamiya 1/700th Waterline Japanese H.Cruiser Tone
Tamiya 1/700th Waterline Japanese Lt.Cruiser Kuma
Tamiya 1/700th Waterline Japanese Lt.Cruiser Tama
Tamiya 1/700th Waterline Japanese Destroyer Ayanami
Tamiya 1/700th Waterline Japanese Destroyer Matsu
Tamiya 1/700th Waterline Japanese Destroyer Shimakaze

Mike:

I just gave away a ton of built kits and around 10 or so unbuilt ones to boys in my Scout Troop. You mght have some kids you could pass them on to. If not and you are not wanting anythng, send them to me and I can pass them on. I mean those kids just went crazy for the give awaysand only half the Troop showed up for the event

Steve -

A great idea and being a former CubMaster and Asst ScoutMaster, I should have thought of doing that long ago. I've got a bunch of old 1/72 ESCI planes and 1/72 MPC AFVs to add in, too. I've also sent a bunch of kits through my Sister and the 'Moms' group she is involved with to the 101st in Iraq. My nephew, who is in the the 502nd Battalion, just returned from Bagdad a few months ago and 'Care' packages with goodies and games, etc. are very popular. I'll leave the ships offer 'open' for a while and then make sure anything left over gets to a good home. Those 1/35 Dragon kits are crowding everthing else out.

Mike
