We had a busy weekend here. One of the local radio networks hosted the annual Children's Miracle Network Radio-thon. Friday morning Renee and I told a little bit of Ian's story and help raise money to buy $800 talking bears with cd players in them. They are used for helping children learn about surgery and their illness through various cds. That afternoon after school, Ian and I went back to the radio station to help out (he was there Thursday afternoon, too). He made 5 radio appearances between 4 and 5 pm and helped raise close to $7,000. The deejay, who is also the program director, from the country station is a close friend of Renee and her brother. He told some of Ian's story and had Ian help out by giving the last four digits of the donation line. Ian also went down the hall and made a quick appearance on the classic rock station.

Ian and the Gator 99.5 Breakfast Bunch on the radio. Todd, Renee's friend is in the black shirt.

Ian and morning deejay Heather from 92.9 The Lake on the air.

Ian helping out in the call center.

Ian singing the ABC song to upcoming country star Judd Bares, who is from Lake Charles.

Saturday was CALMEX XXII, the annual IPMS USA contest that our local club puts on. Renee, Ian and I had the GPM vendors booth set up and stayed busy all day long. Sunday was crash and burn time.

Gator,
Sure is good to see the little one out and about. Here in Western Michigan were dealing with the snow (we get regular snow and Lake effect snow here). It’s good to have my GPS because at night when you’re in a white out it helps to know which way the darn road is going.

At work our union is getting a donation dinner type thing prepared for a fellow officer who is going through his third round of cancer. Our security mangers got canned and were getting ready for a security remodel (30 mil worth of upgrades).

At the home front I've been making indoor tents for my 2 youngest boys and getting ready for my oldest to turn 14(1feb). Not much bench time but I'm going to redo the paint scheme on my Cushing, I attempted to paint the camo but I just used what I had and I'm not happy with it(a mix of acrylics and enamel paint) so I'll get to the LHS and restock on some paint.

Well, the final weekend of the mother-in-law. But seriously she was a monster help for us when my wife had her surgery. I would have never been able to work or get anything else done if she wasn’t around.

I did get to spend some time reading my newest modeling book, “FAQ of the AFV Painting Techniques”, by Mig Jimenez.

We did avoid the snow down here, but it did get a little cold deep in the heart of Dixie.

Even though I did not get a shot at building any, I did learn a few things and had an overall great weekend.

Hi Guys,

Lets see, new mobile phone for the good wife, shopping!!!!! -, but I did manage a walk in the sun on Sunday, watched the Gliders and floaty things up by Whipsnade.

Modelling wise managed to get most of one figure build and painted, just some wear and tear on the uniform. Got some goodies from Resicast and some reference books arrived today for future builds.

Cheers

I have pretty much finished the subassemblies on my Yukikaze and laid paint on those and the deck. PLan to hit the hull with the gey and hopefuly red this week, and then start adding railing PE and radar and deprth charger pieces.

Gunny if that is the Hasegawa 350 scale Nagato and you are needing someone to do a kit build/eview on it.....Like that would happen.....you have a drooling fella down here that would drop every other project I've got going to get you one quickly.
