Hey i did something!
Managed to finish my 1/72 Stuka build and add it to the shelf.

Oh and I managed to cut my self with a bandsaw blade. Wasn’t even in the saw.
Guess some things never change.

Lets see, the weekend. Well, we had a little snow down here is Georgia, but nothing like other places. I did get some painting done on a build. Still haven’t had a chance to strip the paint off my D182.

Went a saw 10,000BC, wait for it to come on video, then maybe still consider skipping it. Also work on my new improved chicken pen.

I missed the UNC/Duke game, but was SO happy with the outcome.

I spent most of my weekend shovelling snow. We had our 12th annual Welcome (Wellington county modelling exposition) show. A show that usually attracts over 400 entries, managed less than 200, thanks to the blizzard that hit the north eastern portion of Canada and the US. It's a small group of us that organize the show and we've always feared being derailed by a late winter storm, for 12 years we've managed to avoid this, but this year our luck finally ran out. I didn't get any opportunity to model, and as I'm away again, I'll not get another chance to work on my Nagato for another couple of weeks. I'll be back home for the Easter weekend and I've promised myself 4 days of uninterupted modelling!

Well after a LOOOONG delay, (and I still won't be able to devote a lot of time until I finish with my taxes ) I finally got around to doing some work on my Tamiya Fletcher conversion to a square bridge, the USS Healy, DD-672.

I did a bit of drilling of te portholes in the resin bridge to open it up some, completed the dual 40mms, and actually completed the #1 Five inch turret. I got the Corsair/L'Arsenal aftermarket, and I'm installing the brass 5" barrels I got from Steve Nuttall when I bought all the barrels for the Missouri 3 years ago. Those resin/PE turrets are really amazing when you get everything on them with about 10 or so PE parts. Took most of the day yesterday, just for one. There is such variety of placement of things like hatches and ladders on those turrets, even on the same ship, since I don't have any really good photos, I may make each of them slightly differently. Probably won't do any pictures until after I get them all done and prior to paint.

Good to get back into it!!!!

Well, stitches came off the hand, good to have my opposable thumb again! Main "modelling" work I did was fixing the screen door in front of our house that ripped due to the wind/rain storm we had during the weekend. Ship-wise, taking a break from the PT boat and "practicing" construction on a couple 1:700 Arii moderm subs. Bad quality kits, but giving me good practice on seam welding with Tenax and sanding.

I think I got about 10 minutes in on that halftrack. Been bouncing around jobs with training and shift and schedule changes for the past 2 months. Finally am getting settled in starting today. Days off are Wed and Thurs, so hopefully I'll get a bit of bench time in to get rolling. Placed my order for the Nagato that Great MOdels put on hold for me, so that should come rolling in on Friday or next Monday. All my finanaces got settled up, so I am pretty solvent right now and it sure feels good to not be stressed at the job or about monthly bills. Now comes the fun part. Trying to bring Fritz from a puppy to a dog stage and get him acclimated to a consistent schedule. We've gotten pretty much past housebreaking, now we're working on jumping. Hey the guy is well over 50 pounds now and on hind legs we can just about whack my face with those fron ham feet of his. I think in another month or so he'll be in my face with his the way he's growing. Well, I can't say I didn't ask for it. But it is great to come home and have someone there who flips out when I walk through the door.
